Garden Oasis Patio Furniture Continued...I have several friends that went to Bartending School only to later find out that they hated bartending! Now, they mix drinks for friends only. If I don't want to have a large variety of mixed drinks, I will decide on just one or maybe two types of drinks that I can mix up and then just serve from pitchers. I like to make Margaritas and I also like to make Long Island Ice Tea. Margaritas are very easy to make and almost everybody that drinks likes them. I do part of the preparation ahead of time. I like to entertain and decided a long time ago that I liked to have the appropriate stemware for every occasion. I have a couple of dozen margarita glasses. When I have planned a Margarita Party, I will take out all of the margarita glasses the night before the party and run them through the dishwasher. I would not like to serve margaritas in dirty glasses. I do this the night before because I don't want the glasses to be hot when the party starts. Before my first guests arrive, I rub a cut lime around the edges of all of the glasses and then I dip the rims of the glasses into pickling salt. To make the actual Margarita, I use twelve ounces of Cointreau, twelve ounces of Tequila and twelve ounces of Key Lime juice. I like to blend this in my blender with a tray of ice cubes. Depending on the size of the gathering, I will make several containers of the margarita solution and keep it in the fridge and blend as needed. My friends love my margaritas. I also like to have parties that serve my favorite alcoholic beverage, the Long Island Ice Tea. The last time I had a party with Long Island Ice Tea, my boss was invited and he really thought that my garden oasis patio furniture was comfortable. I have tall glasses that I bought especially for Long Island Ice Tea. The glasses have a twenty ounce capacity. When I plan to have a cocktail party that will serve Long Island Ice Tea, I do part of the preparation work the night before. I will make sure that the glasses are clean and that there are enough napkins and small plates for the finger foods. I usually have to make a trip to the liquor store for ingredients when I serve Long Island Ice Tea. There are four types of alcohol in this drink. To make the drink, I pour two ounces of Vodka, two ounces of Gin, four ounces of Triple Sec, four ounces of Whisky Sour and then four ounces of Coke into one of my glasses. I then fill the remainder of the glass up with ice and put a lemon slice into the top of the drink. I really like entertaining and never felt comfortable about doing it until I owned garden oasis patio furniture. |
