Looking for Patio Ideas & Furniture? |
Patio Bar FurnitureLast year I bought patio bar furniture. It is one investment that I am glad that I made. I have had several parties for friends. Actually, I make it a point to use my patio bar furniture once a month. I ask my best friends to come over the first Thursday of every month for a meeting. We discuss various topics and all feel better for it. It is our favorite kind of therapy. At first, these meetings start out complaining about our bosses. Some of us complain about our husbands or boyfriends. Some of us praise their virtues. We used to talk about our kids and then there was a rule established that no one talks about their kids at these meetings. It is hard to feel like you are in the land of grownups when you talk about diapers or crayon marks on walls. Our group of friends also has women without children. They started to feel left out when kids became the center of the conversation. The childless women would start to sit by themselves at the patio bar furniture and try to make excuses about leaving early. It was funny that after the rule was made about adult only conversation, no one tried to leave early. I try to have a complimentary menu for the alcoholic drinks that I will be serving. My favorite menu consisted of microbrewed beer and various cheeses. Last March, I served Bink Bloesem beer that is made by the Kerkom Brewery. This is a seasonal beer brewed only during the spring and summer months, this is not an easy beer to come by. I looked for it for six weeks before I found it. This beer is brewed with five types of malt, Belgian hops & yeast, honey from Sint-Truiden and syrup from pears grown locally in Vrolingen, this is a truly an authentic Belgian beer that is a celebration of the harvest. This beautiful dark brown Belgian ale has a big Belgian yeastiness. I tasted an expectedly heavy note of fruit with a bit of maple syrup. The nose of the beer featured notes of pears, honey and even peaches. My friends thought that it was full-bodied with a complex development of flavors that took a while to fully emerge. When you drink this beer, you should expect notes of honey and caramel, with a note of molasses at the start. The caramel flavors widen through the middle, as notes of bread and sweet malt join in, along with a bit of clove. The pear flavors are evident, but not overly bold, and the overall fruitiness is offset by hop bitterness and carbonation. |
