Patio Door Blinds Continued...I've been noticing the patio door blinds at my jobs because for the most part, the people that hire me have good taste in furnishings. I first saw matchstick patio door blinds at the Midway home. The Midways like to eat light fare. I usually serve them Baked Salmon with brown rice and roasted asparagus. They have kids and the kids like chocolate ice cream for dessert. I make a really tasty baked salmon. I spread a country style dijon mustard all over the salmon filet, then sprinkle the fish with panko crumbs and pour a small amount of melted butter on top. Panko crumbs are nice and light and can be found with Japanese foods at the market. I make a simple brown rice to serve alongside the salmon. The asparagus that I get at the farmer's market roasts nicely with olive oil, salt and pepper. Mrs. Kellogg has only hired me once to cater a luncheon at her home. I really admired her motorized patio door blinds. They were very fancy. I had fun with the menu I served for her garden party. I made a Lobster and Shrimp salad with croissants and a spicy cucumber salad. She had a bartender that looked like he was serving Mimosas. Mrs. Kellogg did not want a traditional dessert and instead chose a fruit tray. I found a nice recipe for Lobster and Shrimp salad in an old book. The recipe was unusual because it featured fresh tarragon. I was really impressed at the flavors in this dish. I picked up the croissants from a local Vietnamese bakery. I chose to make the cucumber salad with jalapeno peppers because the other items were highly flavored. I make a Stroganoff meal with egg noodles and green beans every time I cook for Mr. Barnes. His favorite dessert is Apple Pie. Mr. Barnes is a weekend dad and he likes to have a home cooked meal for his kids that they will all enjoy. He has a nice dining room with plantation patio door blinds. The Jordan family has very expensive tastes. I was serving them Lobster Tail with Zucchini sauté and French bread for dinner and was surprised when they didn't need to leave the table to adjust the patio door blinds. The Jordans have remote control patio door blinds. It is really impressive. I like the simplicity of the Lobster menu for the Jordans. The hardest part of the meal is the shopping for very fresh ingredients and clarifying the butter for the shellfish. I usually end this meal with a bowl of cut up honeydew melon that has been tossed in Cointreau and mint leaves. The first family that I started cooking regularly for is one of my favorite families. The Reynolds family loves my fried catfish and hushpuppies. I also like to make onion rings with this meal and end it up with Pecan Pie. The vertical patio door blinds are lovely in their home and fit in so nicely with their lifestyle. I fry my catfish with white cornmeal. I do not use a batter for frying. I make the hushpuppy recipe that is on the cornmeal bag. For the onion rings, I soak onion rings in buttermilk for at least an hour and a half, and then dredge in flour and fry. Pecan Pie is a southern favorite and Mrs. Reynolds loves Pecan Pie. She requests it with every meal I prepare. |
